    For the Cake
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • For the sauce
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup stout


  • Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 8x8" baking dish.
  • In a large bowl mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  • Mix in the remaining cake ingredients until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the baking dish.
  • In a medium pot on medium heat combine the sauce ingredients. Stir until hot.
  • Pour the sauce over the batter.
  • Bake in oven 30-35 minutes until cake is set.
