American Amber Ale

This Americanized British pale ale is named for it’s amber hue; a product of the use of caramel and crystal malts. This style is one of the most popular in America as it is brewed to be sessionable and easy drinking.

Colour– copper to reddish brown, slight haze

Aroma– caramel, toffee, brown sugar, pine, citrus,

Flavour– caramel, toffee, brown sugar, citrus,

Mouthfeel– mouth coating, slick

Finish– lingering sweetness, some hop biterness

ABV– 4.5 – 6.2%

Food Pairings– BBQ, grilled food, pizza, smoked food, fried foods, burgers

Cheese Pairings– cheddar, gouda, aged cheese, goat cheese

Dessert Pairings– pound cake, pecan desserts, caramel desserts, bananas foster
